About Dr. Patrizia Colmenares
Clinical Expertise
Dr. Colmenares is passionate about providing comprehensive eye care with a focus on the treatment and management of dry eye disease, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. She also has extensive experience in urgent and emergent cases, as well as pre- and post-operative care.
Education and Medical Training
Dr. Colmenares grew up in Northern Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She went on to attend Midwestern University College of Optometry, where she was active in the Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity and the Lions Club.
Her clinical training included externships at the Memphis VA Hospital, Cool Springs Eyecare in Franklin, Tennessee, and Bowden Eye Center in Jacksonville, Florida. She further advanced her expertise through an ocular disease residency at Virginia Eye Consultants, managing complex medical and surgical eye care cases.

Excellent customer service. All the girls at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. And all the ones who work inside including the optometrist Patricia Colmenares are awesome. Very knowledgeable, pay very close attention to patients. I’ll definitely recommend your office to all my friends and family.

Dr Colmenares was a great Dr. I was not able to see my regular eye Dr and was sent to the “sister office” with Dr C. I was impressed with her and I would highly recommend her to anyone.
