Dr. Decker was born and raised in OK City, OK. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Southern Nazarene University. After marrying Lois, he went on to study medicine at the University of Oklahoma, Health Sciences Center. After Graduation, they moved to Temple, TX for his Family Practice Residency at Scott and White. Family practice is a medical specialty, which provides continuing and comprehensive health care for each member of the family individually and as a group. A board certified family physician is a doctor who undergoes a three-year residency in family practice and then passes a Board Exam given by The American Academy of Family Practice. Continuing education allows Dr. Decker to remain a Board Certified Diplomat of The American Academy of Family Practice in good standing. After completing his residency, he and Lois moved to The Woodlands where Paul joined Sadler Clinic. Dr. Decker and Lois also became involved in the The Woodlands United Methodist Church and The Community Clinic where they continue to be very active members. In 2006, The Deckers were blessed with Rianna. Their son, Hunter, came along in 2010. They are both very proud of their children and feel immensely blessed. Dr. Decker enjoys woodworking, photography, travel and computers. He is involved in the Emmaus community, Teaches adult and children’s Sunday school regularly and facilitates a Wednesday evening bible study. He volunteers once a month at The Community Clinic where he sees patients from the local and surrounding areas to provide access to care for those without resources. Dr. Decker has courtesy privileges at both Memorial Herman and St. Luke’s in The Woodlands. In 2004, Dr. Decker transitioned to using the Hospitalists to manage his patients in the hospital due to the Hospitalists continued presence during the day, allowing them to respond much quicker to any emergencies.
