“I've been seeing Dr. Scott for about 10 years and he has been excellent in every way. Aside from how thorough his exams are, his ability to explain each anomaly that has come up thoroughly and confidently. He tells it like it is - regardless what his findings are - explains the risks and benefits of options and gives you all the information you need to move forward. He will also share his opinion of what he would do if he had the same issues - most often consistent with his recommendations but, for good reasons, not always! Each person has to make their own decisions based on what is most important. He is also as kind and friendly....and funny...as anyone can be. It's a truly an enjoyable experience!!”

About Dr. Paul Scott

Dr. Scott was born in Montreal, Canada, in 1946 and completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine in 1971. He then completed a Medical Internship at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and returned to Ottawa for his Residency in Ophthalmology at The Ottawa Hospital. He successfully passed the Royal College of Surgeons' examination on the first sitting and was granted the FRCS(C) degree in 1975, as well as the Certified Specialist of the Province of Quebec (CSPQ) designation in the same year. In 1976, he passed the American Board of Ophthalmology exams and moved to Houston, Texas, the next year, where he has continued in private practice. In 1976, he also obtained his Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons designation.
Dr. Scott has been a member of the Harris County Medical Society since arriving in Houston and has contributed his time serving on the Fee Complaint Committee and the Membership Committee. He is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Houston Ophthalmological Society, having served in many roles including President during 1995–1996.
Dr. Scott is married to Judi Scott, and they have two married children. Their son David is an attorney and is married to Adrienne, a Rabbi. Their daughter Natalie works as a software developer and is married to Michael Waldman, who is a Benefit Consultant to medium and large businesses. They live in Dallas, Texas.
