“Dr. Avila was great. He took time to listen to my concerns, ask questions , and provide a plan of care. The office staff was friendly and the office was clean. The nurses were thorough, knowledgeable, and helpful. However, for a 8:30am appointment, we arrived a few minutes early and the doors were locked. The staff was arriving as the doors were unlocked at 8:30. The office was not prepared to see patients at 8:30 and it was 20 minutes before I was called to be seen. This is the first appointment of the day. There should be NO wait time. Then there was more lengthy waiting in between nurses and doctors and then checkout. The whole experience was painfully slow. The office needs better management and flow.”

Dr. Avila joined Allergy and ENT Associates in January 2016. He is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Avila completed medical school at the University of Brasilia, Brazil, residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and Allergy-Immunology Fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Avila has spent 18 years in academia at UCSF and Northwestern University (NU) in Chicago where he was a Full Professor. He directed the UCSF-Stanford and the NU Allergy-Immunology Fellowship Programs for a total of 13 years, supervising the training of 50 doctors. He has been active in medical research as well, authoring or co-authoring over 120 papers and book chapters on asthma, respiratory infections, allergic rhinitis and chronic rhinosinusitis. Dr. Avila has spent his entire career cultivating knowledge about allergy and immunology issues. He now brings that passion to our patients and their families, educating them about the process of their disease and its prevention and treatment. He provides practical, effective options that take into account the individual's healthcare needs, giving them the best tools for self-management of acute and chronic symptoms.

Dr. Avila was great. Exceptional listener, good bedside manner, very intelligent and took the time to connect some dots for me. He also went over possible solutions once we get to the bottom of my issue. I’d give him 1000 stars if I could. It’s very rare you get genuine doctors that come from a place of curiosity. His nurse was awesome as well, I really liked her. The staff was great.

I was very disappointed. Not only was the price quite high for just a consultation, I felt like I was never actually consulted! It was a 5-10 minute conversation about testing, then I was pushed to test far more than I asked for, or even needed. I feel insulted becasue of the abrupt “consult” that I was given followed by pushing a high priced test when I really only needed a small one. I’ll definitely not be getting my testing or treatments done here. Had they set proper expectations, or had the doctor actually seemed interested in speaking with me, I’d have rated higher.

Loved this practice and the way they do business. Their on line portal worked great and was very easy to use. Dr. Avila was extremely thorough! He took the time to listen to me and gave me very detailed instruction as to how to handle my illness. He also printed out a sheet for Medical Instruction that is helpful, gave me info on hives and gave me an action plan for potential anaphylaxis. Probably one of the best doctor visits ever. I look forward to going back to this practice.

Upon arrival was told my online "registration" had not been rec'd, altho I had done it at home and sent in as requested. Had to spend considerable time filling out forms at office, delaying my visit.
I arrived before 9am, and yet it was nearly 2 1/2 hours later before I left. Service, doctor, advice, care was excellent, but time for all seemingly was way too long.
