He was later selected to the United States Men’s U-15 and U-17 National Soccer Teams, serving as team captain. He received a BS in Psychology from George Mason University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. While at George Mason, he continued his soccer career, helping lead the Patriots to the Colonial Athletic Association title in 2008. He earned numerous awards throughout his career, including Academic All-American First Team, Lowes Senior Class award Finalist, and CAA Scholar Athlete of the Year. In 2018, he was named to the George Mason Men’s Soccer Hall of Fame. Dr. Edgar attended medical school at the University of Maryland, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, which recognizes students who exemplify compassionate patient care and serve as role models in the community. Additionally, he received the Kowaleski Award in Family Medicine, which is given to a student who exhibits excellence in Family Medicine. Dr. Edgar completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Pennsylvania, where he provided care at numerous mass sporting events such as the Humana Rock and Roll Half Marathon and the Penn Relays. Following residency, Dr. Edgar completed his Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Crozer Health in Springfield, PA.
