About Dr. Risa Ravitz
Dr. Ravitz is a board-certified Neurologist and Pain Management specialist with fellowship training in Headache Medicine from Columbia University. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University, completed her internship at the University of Colorado, and finished her residency in Neurology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of all neurologic conditions involving both the central and peripheral nervous systems. Dr. Ravitz also has additional interest and training in the treatment of headaches. She uses a holistic approach to treatment that includes pharmacotherapy, Botox, trigger point injections, physical therapy, and diet and lifestyle changes to help patients return to active lives without pain.
Dr. Ravitz is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Pain Medicine. She is a member of the American Headache Society and serves on the Board of Directors for the New York County Medical Society.
She is committed to continuing medical education and regularly attends conferences nationwide in her field. She was recently named a Super Doctor and one of New York's Rising Stars in the New York Times Magazine, an award recognizing young physicians. In her free time, Dr. Ravitz enjoys surfing, running, and yoga.

I was having an issue getting the med that the DR prescribed through my pharmacy. They were willing to step up to the plate and assist with the approval. My current pharmacy was able to get it approved so I didn't need them to assist. But it's great that they offered to help. Thanks!

Overall acceptable care, given suggestions for testing to see about potential care that may be needed. However, there was unnecessary critism involving patient struggles occuring because of their weight, with no care for if the issue occurred before weight gain, or may even potentially be causing it. I've always heard of it happening to patients, but it's the first time this has occurred to me. Also disappointed at patient concerns and reasons they visited being dismissed because I was too put together regardless that I was uninterested in medication, just knowing if my corncern was a potential cause to issues. Nurse care and assistants however, were wonderful and I very much appreciated their care.

Dr. Ravitz and her staff are incredible. She’s the best neurologist I’ve ever seen and I can truly say I feel 100% comfortable seeing her and I feel confident with her decisions about my treatment. She is sincere and really cares. I highly recommend Dr. Ravitz.
