Dr. Robert Behan is a valued member of the team at Metropolitan Vision, focusing on the comprehensive management of patients' visual needs. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, graduating at the top of his class. Dr. Behan completed residencies at the Illinois Eye Institute and The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired, where he specialized in ocular disease management and low vision rehabilitation. He is also experienced in specialty contact lens fitting.
Dr. Behan has been honored with the Wesley Jessen Award for Contact Lens Excellence and the Eschenbach Award for Low Vision Rehabilitation.
He is a dedicated member of both the American Optometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association.
Dr. Behan lives on Long Island with his wife and two beautiful children.
