About Dr. Robert Bittel

Robert Bittel, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1983 and earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978. Dr. Bittel provides comprehensive care to all his patients. He specializes in ocular disease treatment, glaucoma, and specialty contact lenses. He says the best thing about being an Optometrist is interacting with patients and giving them a better quality of life through good vision. In 2021, Dr. Bittel received Optometrist of the Year for Pennsylvania. The Western Pennsylvania Optometric Association also recognized Dr. Bittel as the 2021 Optometrist of the Year, an award Dr. Bittel has won twice before in his busy career. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Bittel enjoys fishing (salt water, fresh water, and ice fishing), boating, and relaxing at Deep Creek Lake.
