About Dr. Robert Sobel
Dr. Sobel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 1985 and earned his Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1989.
He has extensive experience in adult and children's vision care, medical treatment, managing dry eye, and fitting hard-to-fit contact lenses.
In his practice, Dr. Sobel specializes in fitting contact lenses for keratoconus, a condition involving irregularly shaped corneas. He fits the revolutionary scleral lens as well as gas permeable lenses for keratoconus. His special interest lies in extreme keratoconus cases, helping patients see clearly and eliminate distorted vision. Dr. Sobel is also a certified fitter for the Kerasoft IC soft lens designed for keratoconus.
Born and raised in the Detroit area, Dr. Sobel enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with his family.
