About Dr. Rozaliya (Rose) Shimonova

Rose Shimonova, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from Midwestern University- Arizona College of Optometry. She completed a residency in primary care and ocular disease at Thomas E. Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Amarillo, Texas. Dr. Shimonova has been practicing since 2014 and specializes in primary care and ocular disease. She is passionate about providing quality eye care and has extensive experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of ocular conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye syndrome. In addition, Dr. Shimonova is skilled in fitting custom contact lenses, including rigid gas permeable lenses, hybrid lenses, and scleral lenses. Beyond her clinical expertise, Dr. Shimonova is passionate about community service. The title of the business is “eye consultants” not specialists, as listed on Zocdoc- & the front desk team is wholly unapologetic about this (even when this causes the patient issues getting to their appointment). The equipment used at beginning of appointment was not cleaned prior to using it (at least not in front of me, and I noticed lint and particles on the chin rest) & was not cleaned after I used it (so I assume it wasn’t cleaned before either), the cost of photos of my eye instead of dilation is $20 more than any other eye doctor around me. They also require more insurance information than I’ve ever had to provide for an eye appointment, make a copy of your ID, & strongly encourage you to list detailed emergency contact info… something felt off here so I trusted my gut and walked out of my appointment about 20 minutes in. Personally, would not recommend this place.
