Dr. Russell Cavallo is a skilled sports medicine specialist as well as a knee and shoulder surgeon, serving the communities of Greenwich and Stamford, CT. Dr. Cavallo attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he received his medical degree. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He went on to complete a fellowship in sports medicine, knee surgery, and shoulder surgery at Duke University Medical Center.

I work with Dr. Cavallo in surgery but he didn’t know I was coming. I was so impressed with his bed side manners. He was decisive and informative. I have a lot of respect for this gentleman.

Dr Cavallo is excellent, but his receptionist needs to work on her people skills. I stood in front of her for 5 minutes while she was entering information on a computer screen. I have no problem at all waiting, but I think it's important to be acknowledged with a simple "I'll be with you in a minute". I finally asked her if I should sit down and weight, and at that point she acknowledged my presence. Not good.

Dr. Cavallo came recommended from a friend who recently had Knee Replacement Surgery. All in one visit he did consult with me, listened to what I was saying, di an examination of my knee, sent me down the hall for x-rays and then after viewing them, explained to me what was happening. He went over the options, and I chose the Knee Replacement path. He agreed that was my best hope for a full recovery. He went over the risks and an explanation of the steps from now until surgery and the recovery steps and timeline. He had an assistant with him taken notes of what he said and my questions. I never felt rushed, and he told me if I have anymore questions that I should call immediately to get them answered. I felt 100% comfortable with him and trust him completely.
