Your info does not include the Suite No for Dr. G. So when we (my mom and I) arrived for the appointment, we were there early but then had to call the Dr's office to find out where that was, whydid I not call ahead of the appointment? Because 7625 sounds like it could be an independent building. Thinking back on it, your site did not give me her Tel No either, it was good that I googled it before going or else it could have been disastrous. By the way the Touch Screen guide inside the building was of no help either. Her Suite No is 260 if you want to update it.

The doctor is widely knowledgeable, attentive and thorough. I liked her bedside manner and it's a huge plus that she's not a pill pusher and very polite. The office staff, however, is disorganized. I hope the office manager makes a nocell phone usage policy for the waiting area. There were a few people on their phones, in addition to the already crowded waiting area, which made for an unpleasant waiting experience. The level of noise in the waiting area needs to be addressed as this is a clinic that treats headaches and conditions of the nervous system. The level of noise could be triggers for elevated blood pressure and anxiety.

I started having terrible daily headaches and sore neck since Jan. this year. While the only thing I did differently was hitting the weights pretty hard in the gym, I went to half dozen different doctors, including two ENTs and twoneurologists and no one could figure out what was causing my pain. I felt helpless and desperate for my situation because all these doctors just want to put me on different medications that made me felt worse. Finally, I came cross Dr. Gunawardane’s profile online and I decided to see schedule an appointment to see her because of her vast experiences as a neurologist, I’m glad I did because she saved my life. My first appointment with Dr. G in April, she immediately noticed that my headaches came from my neck so she personally scheduled a cervical MRI for me for the very same day so I can be properly diagnosed. She also gave me her personal cell phone number so I can keep in touch with her. I’ve never had a doctor who gave his/her personal cell number before and I was absolutely in tears that I finally found a doctor who really cared about me, not just a patient but as a friend or family. Long story short, my MRI came back that showed a large herniated disc in my neck at c5 6, which was compressing/flattening my spinal cord and spinal nerve and there was virtually no flow of cerebral spinal fluid at the point of the herniation. One little fall/accident I was looking at being paralyzed from the neck down for the rest of my life. Petrified, I texted Dr. G right away with my MRI report and she called me right back and scheduled an appointment with her husband who happens to be a pain management specialist and a great doctor the very next day. A month later, due to the severity of my disc herniation, I had a disc replacement surgery at Georgetown University Hospital and is currently recovering from my surgery. Not a day goes by I don’t think about what Dr. G did for me and what could have happened to me if I didn’t find her in time. I’m beyond thankful to Dr. G, she’s an angel, watching over my shoulders. She saved me and my family, my two little kids can still have a functioning father today because of her, I’m truly in debt to her for saving me and you will not find a better doctor in this country or anywhere else.

Dr Ruwani G. is very detailed and I appreciate that. My wait was lengthy but that is because I was a new patient. She was definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Ruwani was very sweet! She showed a lot of concern and was an intent listener. She has had a lot of experience and she really showed that in her confidence. I would recommend her to anyone who needs to see a neurologist!

Had an MRI done as she suggested. She looked at one picture, read the technicians notes and made that what the technician wrote as her final determination. Huh?! She's the doctor! I can read! As a doctor it is her jobto asses the MRI, she didn't do that, but wanted me to come back for somethings else that was more money.

She was very nice and kind but very fast. I had a hard time keeping up with what she was saying and I'm in the medical field. It was a little overwhelming. She scheduled a lot of other appointments very quickly. She does work with her husband who is a pain management doctor. Yet I did find she was kind she even game me her cell phone number to text her if I need anything.

Dr. Gunawardane is a wonderful and caring neurologist. I have watched the steady decline in my mother's functions from Parkinson's disease for the past two years. In just two weeks, I see a resurgence of the very strong and intelligent personI always knew. It is great to see her becoming more independent and to see the sparkle in her eyes again. I am thankful the quality of her life is improving.

The appointment occurred right on time. Her questions narrowed quickly to my concerns. She identified my concerns better than I did and quickly identified tests to investigate the physiological causes. I was very pleased with the diagnosticprocedures, the findings and the recommended followup. My next visit is in a week! Unbelievably fast.

Dr. G paid attention to all the past medical details (complicated) and was able to educate us on its effects towards my husbands current situation. She is the first doctor in three years to give us a ray of hope with the progression of memory loss

Dr. G was amazing. So informative and eager to help me. I've suffered with chronic migraines almost my whole life. Most doctors tell me there isn't anything they can do for me. Not Dr. G - she is doing everything shecan to try to help me!! Trial meds, tests to rule out anything really bad, etc. Her office staff was also AMAZING. Checking in was easy, checking out was even easier. They did everything they could to make my experience as painless as possible.

I had such high hopes after my 1st appt w/Dr Gunawardane but unfortunately, all of her words did match her actions. After my first visit, all other visits were incredibly rushed (Dr flying through exam room for maybe a few mins)and included waiting times of 40 mins to 2 hours. Although the Dr insisted I obtain hard copies of multiple ordered MRIs & tests so that she could personally review, she never did. It was one let down after another. I'm out a lot of money and time with zero progress in my quest for health answers. Also, it seems the Dr and her office staff are completely out of sync.

I am most impressed about her attitude to help her patients. She seems to have a quick grasp of the issue and gave several options for medications and other things that could be done right away. Her caring encouragement was muchneeded and a wonderful surprise. She connects immediately and listens intently when you answer her questions. We have much hope now that she will be able to help my granddaughter get better control of her medical problem. I highly recommend her if you have severe headaches and have tried other doctors with no result.

My visit infuriated me. The doctor would not listen to what I had to say, and diagnosed me before even looking at the MRI results I brought her. I tried to explain to her multiple times that I've not had anypain or discomfort at all and she insisted on documenting that I have. This doctor also had to leave in the middle of my appointment to keep another patient from leaving the office. I requested a note to clear me to travel back to work and she wouldn't listen to what I needed in the note. Because she had to leave to stop another patient from leaving she had the nurse come in to assist with the note which myself and my husband had to basically dictate for him. The doctor requested I come back and I informed her multiple times that I live out of the US and I won't be back until 29 Jun 2016. When we went to leave and chat office personnel to get the note signed from the doctor, the employee said that the doctor indicated I should come back on 6 June. I expressed that I would not be back in the country until the end of June and that I already told the doctor that but clearly the doctor has a problem with her listening skills cause she didn't listen to ANYTHING I said the entire visit. The doctor then charged me an additional $35 on top of my co-pay to provide me with the same letter to clear me for returning to work that she didn't even type and in reality my husband and I type. This doctor was AWFUL!

This was my first time seeing Dr. Gunawardane. I thought she was nice and had good bedside manner and appears knowledgeable. My only critique would be the wait. I waited close to an hour and a half to see the doctorand this was my first visit. I was told other emergencies had come up, but nonetheless, no one enjoys sitting in a office that long. And if situations were reversed I doubt they would care about my emergencies.
