"Ryan Whinery, B.S., O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry, graduating magna cum laude. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, magna cum laude, from Youngstown State University in Ohio. While in optometry school, Dr. Whinery completed his externships at the Albuquerque Veterans Affairs Hospital in New Mexico and Oak Hill Eye Care in Austin, Texas. Dr. Whinery has been at Roberts EyeCare Associates since the summer of 2018. His memberships include the New York State Optometric Association, for which he is the local chapter president, and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Whinery and his wife Nicole, who loves saving cats, live in Vestal, New York, with their five cats (he knows that this is too many cats). He enjoys exercising and hiking with Nicole. Having grown up in Ohio, he is a huge Cleveland Browns fan and is hopeful this is their year. While in Ohio, he played rugby for the Youngstown Steel Valley Men’s Club."
