Primary Care Doctor

I chose internal medicine because it lets me think deeply, build long-term relationships and practice medicine in a way that feels grounded, practical and aligned with my values. The intellectual challenge of caring for adults with complex, overlapping conditions draws me in, especially when a diagnosis requires curiosity, pattern recognition and deep reasoning. I'm equally drawn to the day-to-day rhythm of bread-and-butter internal medicine including managing high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure, thyroid disease and the chronic conditions that shape most patients' lives. That steady, foundational work is where I feel most at home. Internal medicine allows me to be both a problem-solver and a partner in someone's health. Internists don't treat isolated symptoms, they understand the whole person, including their medical history, social context and goals. That broader perspective is the kind of medicine that feels meaningful to me. A core part of my practice philosophy is providing safe, evidence-based care, which includes being thoughtful and conservative with medications that carry a high risk of dependence or harm. These boundaries aren't about withholding care, they're about ensuring that the care I provide is sustainable, safe and aligned with best practices. My focus is on alternative strategies, multidisciplinary approaches and patient education to help people manage symptoms without unnecessary risk. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as an adjunct assistant professor with the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Charlotte.
