About Dr. Santina Burner
Dr. Possanza joined Weinstein Eye Associates in August 2022. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University.
During her studies, Dr. Possanza has participated in numerous charitable causes including volunteering at a long-term care facility and teaching visually impaired students near Pittsburgh. Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Dr. Possanza has always had an interest in eyecare as she follows in her father’s footsteps, who is a successful Optometrist in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Her specialties include comprehensive eye examinations with an emphasis on ocular disease, specialty contact lens fittings, and surgical co-management. Dr. P especially enjoys working with children. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and Maryland Optometric Association.
Outside of the office, Dr. Possanza along with her fiancé, enjoy exploring the area, hiking, trying different restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.

From beginning of my appointment to the end everything was great. The staff were knowledgable, friendly and personable but professional. Dr. Burner was amazing. She took the time to first listen to my problem, then explained everything and made sure I understood the treatment She was very reassuring and patient. I never felt rushed. I would definitely recommend this practice to my friends.
