About Dr. Sara Stockwell

Dr. Stockwell was born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities, and from there enrolled in Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. During her time at SCO, she developed a passion for serving others through a student group called SVOSH, which allowed her to provide eye care to areas in Mexico and Ecuador. After earning her optometry degree, Dr. Stockwell pursued a residency focusing on ocular disease and anterior segment at Vance Thompson Vision in her hometown of Sioux Falls. After completing her residency, she joined a private practice where she enjoyed working alongside three other talented optometrists focusing on primary care. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new restaurants and breweries, spending time with friends and family, sewing and quilting, and taking care of her many houseplants. She couldn't be more excited to be joining the Moyes team and she looks forward to exploring a new city! Dr. Stockwell is dedicated to clinical excellence and compassionate care. We are excited to have her join Moyes Eye Center, where she is now seeing patients at our Lee Summit office.
