"Hello, I'm Dr. Sarah Barwick. I am a licensed psychologist with a deep commitment to helping individuals navigate their unique journeys toward mental wellness. My therapeutic philosophy centers on the belief that each client is an individual with their own story, and I view our relationship as the cornerstone of your progress. While I am here to support you, I am also not afraid to challenge you to help you grow and achieve your goals. I earned my BA in psychology from the University of South Florida in 2006 and went on to obtain my Psy.D. in 2012. During my graduate studies, I worked as a therapist on the Pride Unit of Fort Lauderdale Hospital, where I tailored my studies with dual emphases in forensics and neuropsychology. I also completed an elective practicum at the Miami VA, which greatly influenced my approach to therapy. My experience spans various settings, including the VA, the justice system, and government evaluations. Although I have never claimed a specific specialty, I have always carried a caseload with a high percentage of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) diagnoses. I am also highly experienced in empirically-validated treatments for depression, anxiety, and panic disorders. In addition to my therapeutic services, I offer psychological testing and diagnostic services, including assessments for ADHD, personality disorders, major mood disturbances, and intelligence/learning disorders. My goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of your mental health to tailor our work together effectively. Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in psychology to provide the best care possible. I also value the importance of balance and self-care, which I encourage my clients to incorporate into their lives.
