About Dr. Scott Amoruso

Undergraduate Education: Northern Illinois University - graduated in 2010 with honors. Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Minor equivalent in Chemistry. Optometry School: Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University (MCPHSU) - graduated With honors in 2016. Professional Achievements and Associations: Member of American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, Beta Sigma Kappa (Optometric Honor Society). Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Residency at the Lexington Veteran Affairs Hospital - 2016-2017. Focus on Ocular disease, Low Vision and Polytrauma (with vision therapy elements). The reason I became an optometrist is: To help people see the world better. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Talking about all the options and possibilities that are available to each patient for their individual needs. In my spare time, I enjoy: Hiking, live music, the beach and snowboarding.

Zocdoc for the win again! The reviews were accurate! The process was quick. The bathroom was very clean and bonus…smelled very pleasant. Dr. Scott was attentive and knowledgeable. Took the time I needed, but I didn’t need much. Check in was seamless. There was a bit of a weight trying to check out, but everything took less than an hour, which was exactly what I needed because I squeezed the appointment in during the work day. They wiped down the equipment in front of me and there were some previous person yuckies on it. It might be a good idea for them to wipe down before and after. It didn’t bother me, but someone else might be bothered by that. So, I’m mentioning it. That and the little wait at the end were the only drawbacks for me. But still a stellar experience!
