About Dr. Scott Greenbaum

He holds a U.S. patent for the Greenbaum Anesthesia Cannula and is the author of *Ocular Anesthesia*, published by Harcourt, Brace, and Company (WB Saunders). He has been elected President of the Ophthalmic Anesthesia Society three times. Dr. Greenbaum has lectured internationally-in the UK, China, Italy, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Canada, and more-on cataract surgery and anesthesia for eye surgery. In 2020, he was honored to deliver the Hustead Memorial Lecture on keeping the eye still for gene therapy and robotic eye surgery. Dr. Greenbaum earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Boston University and completed his residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.

The doctor is old school; cash for copayments and hand written prescriptions. However, he’s a great doctor who listened and then reviewed different options to solve my issue. I would recommend.

I saw Dr. Greenbaum for a large chalazion and requested it be drained, but he preferred a conservative approach with ointments and antibiotics across three visits, none of which helped. He’s a soft-spoken, polite doctor, but I didn’t feel my concerns were fully acknowledged. While he may have been highly regarded in the past, my experience suggested a lack of engagement and effectiveness. I left feeling more like a billing cycle than a patient being actively cared for. I will not be returning, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend him to others.

Dr. Greenbaum is a fantastic ophthalmologist and I would recommend him to my closest friends.
I had an urgent, painful eye infection and booked him ASAP. He has a great bedside manner and gently walked me through his recommended treatment. The antibiotics he prescribed began to work almost instantaneously. All the while, his office remained very communicative and open to working with my hectic schedule. Thank you so much Dr. Greenbaum!

I had corneal erosion which is painful and I wanted to see someone right away. I appreciated being able to find a doctor that was very close to me and I could make a somewhat last-minute appointment. His prescription did not help, my eye got worse. Really scared me off. He could have prescribed pills instead of ointment. I had to see another doctor and get a new prescription. Now my eye is getting better

The office was like taking a step back in time. Only having a basic eye test machine that every Cohens has. Wouldn’t not be able to do any other advanced eye test. Also used an old iPhone SE to take a photo of my eye.
When checking out, I was informed they only accept cash or CHECK! It’s 2024, who carries around a check book?
