About Dr. Scott Tisdale
Dr. Scott Tisdale has been exposed to the eye care industry from a very young age. His father, Ralph Tisdale, is a well-known and highly regarded licensed optician who has owned a flourishing contact lens practice in Seaford, Long Island for over 35 years. For this reason, he has very strong ties to the profession. Dr. Tisdale earned his Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton and his Doctor of Optometry from its College of Optometry in 2008.
He has been working as an independent Doctor of Optometry since 2008, covering all aspects of the profession—from the medical treatment of ocular disease and visual pathology to the business side of dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses. Aside from seeing patients at his practice in Long Island City, he is the acting eye care consultant and optometrist at White Oaks Nursing Facility in Woodbury, Long Island. He has also been a consultant for multiple contact lens companies and a local speaker for Johnson & Johnson.
Dr. Tisdale is the founder, designer, and CEO of Vernon Gantry Eyewear, which he launched with his business partner, Dr. Leong, in 2016. He is also the creative designer and visionary behind LIC Vision Associates, where his artistic and graphic talents are visible throughout many details of the practice.
