“I recently visited Dr. Sean Coughlin at Bay Hill Eye Care for my severe dry eye condition. My symptoms; severe redness, burning, sensitivity to light, feeling of sand in my eyes, watery and blurred vision. The symptoms are so severe that it hinders my ability to drive, read, watch TV and work on the computer. The symptoms are negatively impacting my quality of life! I was extremely satisfied with the care I received. Dr Coughlin was attentive and took the time to thoroughly understand my symptoms. The treatment plan was discussed with the possibly of using Scleral lenses. He explained what they were and that the process takes multiple appointments. Dr Coughlin continued to check with me to confirm I understood and asked several times if I had any questions. The office staff was also friendly and efficient, making the visit pleasant and stress-free. I highly recommend Dr Coughlin for anyone dealing with extremely dry eye issues.”

About Dr. Sean Coughlin
Sean Coughlin, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from Salus University (formerly Pennsylvania College of Optometry) in 1992 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Westminster College in 1988. Dr. Coughlin has been practicing for over 30 years and has a particular interest in fitting specialty contact lenses. As a child, he spent a lot of time with eye doctors due to his own vision issues. This experience intrigued him and inspired him to pursue a career in optometry. Dr. Coughlin finds great satisfaction in helping people with severely damaged corneas see again with scleral lenses.
Outside of work, Dr. Coughlin was a 14-time All-American swimmer in college and loves any chance he gets to be in the water. He enjoys competing in triathlons, having completed the Augusta Half Iron Man and the Vineman Half Iron Man. He is also a diehard volleyball dad for his two youngest daughters and treasures spending time with his wife and three daughters.
