About Dr. Shereen Russell
Dr. Russell is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist, practicing on the Upper East Side of New York City. After receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, Dr. Russell earned her medical degree at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and maintains full attending privileges. Dr. Russell is a member of several societies such as the New York Gynecological Society, American College of Obstetrical and Gynecology Fellow, and the American Medical Association. In the course of her practicing medicine, Dr. Russell has earned many accolades such as being designated to New York's Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists and to Castle Connolly Best Doctors in New York.
Dr. Russell has a thriving practice in Manhattan, and her loyal patients value her unique blend of clinical expertise, surgical acumen and caring demeanor. Dr Russell is INCREDIBLE! For an appointment I always dread every year, she makes me want to go back. She has unbelievable bedside manner — so funny, understanding, receptive, caring, and nice. And I’m unashamed to say that was the best annual I’ve ever had from any gynecologist. The procedure was so fast, efficient, and relatively painless for all parts of the exam. I was in disbelief when she said she was finished because it was so seamless and easy! I have never been so impressed. Needless to say, Dr Russell is THE best OBGYN and I refuse to look elsewhere for the care I need. Genuinely don’t look elsewhere, she is IT!

Dr. Russell is fantastic. I have never waited long, she is very thorough and has great bedside manner, always leave time for questions. She doesn’t sugarcoat things which I also prefer in a doctor. I knew ahead of time she was out of network for me, they will still submit to your insurance though.

I have been seeing Dr. Russell for over ten years. She was with me through a cone procedure which eradicated cervical cancer and has been my OB for my first and now second pregnancies. She is everything that you hope for in a doctor in more - caring, thoughtful, attentive, timely, informative - I could go on and on. When time is tight and decisions need to be made she stays cool, presents you with the information you need, and holds your hand through those difficult moments. When you are awaiting lab results and tests she gets back to you as soon as she can and takes the time over the phone to answer any/all questions you may have about the results. Her office is timely on appointments, however from time to time given emergencies, you might have to wait up to 15m for an appointment. There isn't a better OBGYN out there!

Professional, knowledgable, and sweet. Note that the practice is "out of network" no matter what insurance you have, which means you always have to pay up front for your visits, then get reimbursed. (But the office will submit your paperwork directly to your insurance provider for the reimbursement.)

Dr. Russell is extremely caring, professional, and competent. Her office administrative staff, on the other hand, are rude, hostile, and impatient. It's unfortunate that such a wonderful doctor has to "make up for" the behavior of her front desk personel (which would deter patients from returning!). I guess good help is hard to find, but the fact remains that patient experience starts when you answer the phone, or step foot in the door.
