Dr. Sheryl De Sa, MD

Primary Care Doctor
5325 Vining St NW, Ste 101, Concord, NC
My background in health sciences started long before medical school. I studied psychology and kinesiology at York University, then trained as an echocardiography sonographer, which gave me an early, hands-on look at how the heart and body work together. For more than a decade, I have practiced family medicine with a particular interest in treating high blood pressure, diabetes and spinal conditions such as stenosis and spondylosis. Many of the conditions I treat, like high blood pressure and diabetes, require an ongoing partnership, so I focus on building relationships with my patients over time and adjusting care as their needs change. I also value working closely with the rest of the care team, from specialists to therapists, to make sure every part of a patient's treatment fits together. I earned my medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, completing clinical rotations in cardiology, emergency medicine, internal medicine and geriatrics at hospitals across the United States and Canada. During that time, I also took part in a hypertension research study looking at the safety and effectiveness of a treatment for high blood pressure, an interest that carries into my practice today. Outside of medicine, I trained for years in classical piano, earning advanced certifications through the Royal Conservatory of Music and the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music.
