Dr. Tummuru graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Biology, and subsequently completed medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. She trained at a four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Long Island, New York. There, she received comprehensive training in all aspects of obstetric and gynecologic surgery, including minimally invasive surgery. She is also well trained to manage both low risk and high risk pregnancies. Dr. Tummuru spent two years on staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Rush University Medical Center, and joined Women’s Health Specialists in Sept of 2014. She is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. “I believe that my training as an Osteopathic Physician has helped me to become a well-rounded physician and focus on all aspects of women’s health and well-being. It is my sincere belief that you are never too young or old to be educated about your health and it is my hope that every patient leaves my office better informed.” Dr. Tummuru’s love for surgery and her desire to positively impact her patient’s lives while raising awareness for women’s health, led her to the specialty of OB/GYN. She is committed to promoting preventative medicine through annual exams and screening tests. Dr. Tummuru also participates in teaching medical students and residents throughout their training. Dr. Tummuru lives in Chicago. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, working out and maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
