About Dr. Steven Shake

Dr. Steven Shake is originally from Washington, Indiana. He attended Vincennes University and Indiana University, and is a 1989 graduate of The Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. He completed clinical externships at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital and The Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, Illinois. His specialty interests includes contact lenses and sports vision, and co-manages LASIK and other refractive surgeries along with cataract surgery. Dr. Shake practiced in central and southern Indiana for three years before coming to Owensboro in 1992. Dr. Shake is married to Joanna Davis Shake who has been with the Green River Area Development District (GRADD) since 1994 and serves as Director of Economic Development. They have a daughter, Riley; a son, Connor; and a goldendoodle puppy named Mayberry. Dr. Shake enjoys living in Owensboro and working with patients from Daviess and surrounding counties.
