About Dr. Steven Shaw
Steven Shaw, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where he graduated with Honors and focused on ocular disease management, primary eye care, low vision, and specialty contact lens fittings. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with Minors in Mathematics and Physics at Florida State University. After working as a meteorologist for three years, he moved to Philadelphia to attend optometry school.
Dr. Shaw and his wife, Dr. Strucko, met in optometry school, married, and became co-founders of EyeCare Center of Ocala. He enjoys working with his patients and looks forward to providing high-quality care in all aspects of optometry. He loves technology and is always seeking the next best innovation to enhance patient care.
Dr. Shaw holds professional affiliations with the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and the North Central Florida Optometric Society. He is certified by the Florida Medical Association and the Florida Optometric Association to prescribe oral medication for the treatment of eye disease.
When not in the office treating patients, Dr. Shaw enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and enjoying the outdoors.

It has been two years since my vision appointment in the state we lived in prior to moving to Florida six months ago. I was impressed by the gracious reception staff, followed by the preliminary technicians, whom by the way demonstrated their competency and professionalism and enthusiasm for their job with their boss Dr. Shaw! I felt valued and comforted that Dr. Shaw was able to review my vision results with thoroughness and remarkable vision savvy! He and his wife deserves compliments for running an efficient office Staff and strong equipment knowledge! My husband will be scheduling his appointment in a few months with Dr. Shaw.
