I am passionate about being a healthcare provider because I value the opportunity to serve others in their time of need. Providing information, support, and disease management to patients is more important now than ever, and I want to do my part as a clinician.
As a primary care physician, I provide medical care and am often the first point of contact for my patients' health concerns. I consider the whole patient, including their mental, physical, and emotional health.
I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University, New Orleans, completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Howard University, and hold a Master's in Business Administration from Loyola University Maryland. As an experienced clinician, I continue to educate myself on clinical advances in medicine. I also love spending time with my children and grandchildren, sharing fun activities like hiking and other outdoor events.

The Doctor is great, however, there is a huge IT issue between the desktop version of the "app" that is necessarily used for virtual appointments and the mobile version.
Why is this a problem? Well, because the desktop version of the app (the same through which I had my appointment) had an IT issue in which it would not accept my insurance card and the Doctor didn't know how to help.
You cannot reach out to billing via the desktop version of the app to rectify this, only the chat on the mobile app, which is absolutely ridiculous. I would recommend that the Doc and her staff do better to educate themselves on these sorts of issues to prevent inconveniences to patients.

I didn’t exactly get everything I was looking for as there was some miscommunication, but it was a good way to get birth control without having to go into an office. I do think in the future, however, I will choose in person doctor visits. It was harder to make a personal connection through a screen.

I think Zocdoc/ the Dr. could have let me know ahead of time that my symptoms/ concerns were not addressable over video call and that I would have to go in-person. However, I appreciate that she let me know she would not be billing my insurance given that she was not able to provide care - so it was mostly just a time loss on both ends.
All in all, I appreciated her recommendations and awareness of her own expertise but I believe she could have been more understanding patient emotions. She seemed to expect that I, the patient, would structure the appointment for her and prioritize the symptoms for her... which seems odd given that I am not the content expert, and therefore don't know which symptoms are the most serious/which to focus on.

The first visit was wonderful with the doctor. This recent visit did not feel as comfortable. Instead of giving a bad review for 1 bad meeting, I am going to chalk it up to everyone having the right to have a bad day and poor media connection on my end. I am going to give this doctor another try.

Finally another PCP who I feel comfortable with. My prior PCP left the practice and I have been without one for months. It’s so hard to connect with healthcare providers sometimes. She listened and did not judge. I have been off my meds and my lab numbers were high. She did not make me feel bad but instead jumped in on how we would work on getting things better. I am seriously so happy I found her. I look forward to my next visit.
