About Dr. Susanna Vaystub
Dr. Vaystub graduated from Hunter College here in NYC with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She completed her optometry training at the VA Hospital in Lyons, NJ, as well as Omni Eye Services of NY and NJ, receiving extensive training in ocular disease diagnosis and treatment.

Great provider! Very friendly and thorough throughout the examination. However, location is at an optical with many people coming in and out for other things and absolutely nowhere to sit, and not much privacy. The office was my only gripe because even the office staff was very pleasant.

I have been seeing this doc for over 15yrs maybe more and service has been impeccable since. I got Lasik done 4yrs ago and I have decided to still continue seeing her for my yearly check ups. She has accepted every insurance I’ve ever had and at a time where my insurance lapsed, I was more than happy to pay full price for her services.

Dr. Vaystub was wonderful, unfortunately I cannot say the same for her staff. I am a black woman with facial piercings and when I arrived a male receptionist asked me what tribe I was from in Africa. He then proceeded to make up a fake African sounding word, pretending it could be my "tribe." He then said all I was missing was a bone through my nose! It was extremely racist and unprofessional. Later on, I heard him remark from across he room in front of everyone that he couldn't believe a client (who just walked out of the building) was 14 years old because "she got body!"
It was an extremely uncomfortable experience and it is very unfortunate because Dr. Vaystub was lovely. If she has different locations where she works, I would visit her somewhere other than Riverdale Eye Care.

Dr, Susanna Vaystub, OD was phenomenal, she is an excellent Doctor and a very kind person. You could tell she really cares about her patients. Dr. Vaystub, takes her time, answers all questions in detail, and provides valuable advice. She is my eye doctor forever!
Also, the staff was extremely kind and helpful, Nija was great and greets you with her beautiful smile. Unfortunately, I didn't get the names of the others, but the man that helped pick out the glasses and gave beneficial advice for the lens was very extremely thoughtful and kind, I saw him interact with the other patients and he really wants whats best for you.

Susanna Vaystub OD is very knowledgeable and kind. She was probably the most informative eye doctor I've ever met with and I learned a lot of valuable information from her about how to care for my eyes. Furthermore, I really appreciated the time she spent listening to me and finding the right prescription.

Dr. Susanna Vaystub was amazing! She was quick and helpful. She was able to point out things other eye doctors had not. Gave me useful tips on how to take care of my eyes better! And I didnt have to wait long (I think I lasted longer picking out my glasses!) I would definietly recommend.

The staff was so pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately they did not accept my insurance but I was called about this right away and given an immediate accurate quote.
I went in and filled out some paperwork and was seen less than ten minutes later. I was out in less than an hour. The doctor was friendly and informative and I felt well cared for. I was super impressed by the entire experience !

The office is warm and friendly - both Dr Vaystub and her optician staff. The wait time could have been a bit shorter, but at least the office is clean and bright - not a problem to sit there for a bit.

The visit was very successful. Dr. Vaystub was very kind and patient to my son, who is mentally handicapped. Her diagnosis was also detailed and accurate. However, making the appointment with her office was confusing. First I confirmed the appointment with Zocdoc, then her office called me to change the time. Then another person called again to change
this time it to some other time. Finally, the last person called me to change back to the original time. I had to confirm the appointment 4 or 5 times because of these changes the office made.
