“I took my granddaughter to see Dr. Hewitt at North Fulton Eye Center. We were late due to the holiday traffic but the staff worked around our lateness. Best of all, they have the only ophthalmologists registered with her father's insurance and while they usually do not see teenagers as young as she is, they agreed to examine her eyes. I am so grateful for that. Plus they took such good care of us even providing her with a snack as she had not eaten before we left home. She was very happy with the prescription we got and looks forward to school in person with working glasses next year! I would recommend this practice to anyone. They are very professional, efficient, kind, thoughtful, just wonderful people!”

About Dr. Susanne Hewitt
Dr. Susanne Hewitt is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery, refractive surgery including LASIK and PRK, corneal transplantation, and the management of complex corneal disease. A native of Florida, Dr. Hewitt earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami and completed her residency in Ophthalmology at Emory University. She has been serving patients in the Roswell, Alpharetta, and Cumming areas for over 15 years.
Dr. Hewitt focuses on the surgical treatment of cataracts and the use of premium lens technology, including toric (astigmatism-correcting), multifocal, and extended depth of focus lenses. She also performs laser-assisted cataract surgery for patients who desire this option. Additionally, Dr. Hewitt offers refractive surgery such as LASIK and PRK for patients seeking freedom from glasses or contacts. She provides both medical and surgical care for advanced corneal diseases, including keratoconus, corneal scars, pterygium, corneal dystrophies, and severe dry eye.
A member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Dr. Hewitt is currently on staff at Northside Hospital. Alongside maintaining her full clinical practice, she supervises and teaches trainees in the operating room at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. In her free time, Dr. Hewitt enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter, as well as traveling, reading, exercising, and attending concerts.
