About Dr. Szu-yu Chen

Please note for Dr. Chen, the delivery hospital is NYP Lower Manhattan Hospital at 170 William Street. Dr. Chen's office does not facilitate transfers to NYP WCM Alexandra Cohen Hospital unless it is for a medical reason(s) deemed necessary by your physician. Dr. Chen will only see patients who are at a minimum of 7 weeks into their pregnancy and will reschedule any patient if applicable. Once you have booked your appointment with Dr. Chen you will receive a phone call or email from the office, to go over a few important details needed prior to your appointment. Dr. Chen attended the University of Washington’s School of Medicine to earn her medical education, after she attended the university’s College of Arts and Science, earning her Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. She completed her internship at the Boston University Medical Center, learning about general surgery. Dr. Chen completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the New York Downtown Hospital, where she was named chief resident of her specialty. In 2005, Dr. Chen earned the Marvin Dunn fellowship program, in which she traveled to Shenyang, China. Dr. Chen joins Weill Cornell Medicine after practicing as an OB/GYN generalist in lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. She is passionate about women’s health, and she provides care for patients that experience ectopic or tubal pregnancy, cervical polyps, acne, abnormal pap smears, vaginal discharge, sexual dysfunction, and urinary tract infections.

Dr. Chen kindly and patiently guided me and my partner through our first obstetrics appointment. She was very informative, explained everything she was doing and what we saw on the ultrasound, and she listened and answered all my questions. I felt supported by her.
