About Dr. Tara Keesey
Dr. Keesey comes to Modern Eyes with over 16 years of experience providing comprehensive eye care in a private practice setting, which includes the treatment and management of anterior and posterior segment eye disease and glaucoma, ocular emergencies, foreign body removal, contact lenses, pediatric eye exams, and post-operative surgical co-management. Her clinic experience also includes training at the University of Chicago’s Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) Eye Center, the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Battle Creek, Michigan, and Wesley-Jessen’s VisionCare Specialists Contact Lens and Eye Care Center in Des Plaines, Illinois. Dr. Keesey graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a concentration in bioengineering. After completion of her undergraduate degree, she attended the Illinois College of Optometry, where she received her Doctorate of Optometry, graduating summa cum laude as her class valedictorian. In addition to the Valedictory Award, she received numerous honors, including the Presidential Scholarship, the Beta Sigma Kappa Medal, and induction into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and the Tomb and Key Honor Fraternity. In her spare time, Dr. Keesey enjoys skiing, playing tennis, and spending time with her family.

I like that is a complete eye exam. They let you know what the test show. They answer all my questions. They made sure that I understood everything. Ask if I had any questions. They understood when I talk about the way I am seeing things. Help me to understand and let me know what my vision is like. Getting the frame was easy and the understood were i wanted the line to my reading section. I have bifocal. I had some bad experiences and they understood they problem I had with another doctor had to change my distance on my reading section of the glasses.

Very efficient! Besides the patient before me being late and impacting me, everything was great! I got the right prescription the first time!

Dr. Keesey was very nice. Very soft spoken and professional. She answered all of my questions and was very helpful in understanding eye health. All the associates helping in the front of house were excellent. Very knowledgeable and kind when looking for frames. 12/10 would recommend.
