Optometrist
555 N New Ballas Rd, Ste 310, St. Louis, MO
Dr. Taylor Chesnut was born and raised in Johnston, Iowa. She graduated magna cum laude from Iowa State University in Biochemistry, a university where her brother and four cousins also attended. It was during this time that Dr. Chesnut worked part time at a local optical store and got her first real experience with optometry as a career. After college, she ventured to Memphis where she attended the Southern College of Optometry graduating cum laude and was presented with the Southern College of Optometry Outstanding Clinician award. She stayed involved during her tenure with Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH) which took her to the Dominican Republic to provide eye exams and donated glasses to hundreds of individuals in need. She then pursued additional optometric training by completing a residency in ocular disease and low vision rehabilitation at the Jesse Brown Veterans Administration Hospital in Chicago, IL. “I chose to be a part of Brinton Vision because of the outstanding reputation they have for excellent patient care. The staff is not only highly trained, but also beyond caring and welcoming.” In her free time, Dr. Chesnut loves going to the Lake of the Ozarks with her family to enjoy boating and slalom skiing. She is an avid St. Louis Blues and Cardinals fan. Her biggest obsession is her dog Buster, a part-lab, part-basenji who enjoys swimming at the lake as much as she and her boyfriend do.
