About Dr. Tharanie Amarawardana
Dr. Amarawardana, conveniently known as Dr. A, was born and raised in Maryland. She pursued her Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. It was there she discovered her passion for the field of optometry and went on to obtain her Doctorate at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. A was interested in many of the optometrist specialties, but found particular joy in working with children. After graduation she completed a Pediatric and Binocular Vision Residency program at the State University of New York to further her knowledge and experience with them.

Was actually about 15-20 mins late for the appointment due to traffic and the staff was very nice about it. Was seen pretty quickly despite this, Dr. Amarawardana was very nice and asked a lot of questions, but also let me explain a lot of what I was experiencing so we were on the same level.

If you’re in need of a new optometrist this is the place to go! Dr. A is extremely knowledgeable and she takes great care of her patients. She makes sure her exams are thorough and answer any questions you may have. Not to mention she has the trendiest frames!
