Tom MacMillan, OD obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Alabama School of Optometry in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. MacMillan previously owned/managed 4 Optometric Practices across the Upstate of South Carolina for 31 years. Besides forming relationships with loyal patients, he enjoys watching and supporting his staff as they learn and grow in their profession. Several of them have worked hard to further their education to obtain a variety of licenses, certificates, and leadership roles at the state level in South Carolina. What makes Dr. MacMillan the happiest is being with his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Ginger, and together they have 3 children Austin, Isaac, and Carley. When he is not at work or spending time with his family, Dr. MacMillan enjoys hunting, fishing, yard work, volunteering with his church, cooking, and learning new things! He has been able to use his profession to travel to over 15 different countries to help provide eyecare in areas that do not have easy access to medical care.
