About Dr. Thomas Murphy

Dr. Thomas H. Murphy has been practicing in the Sacramento area for over 45 years. He believes strongly in caring for your vision for life. With that belief, he leads Eye Designs Optometry in providing the latest technologies in eyecare and the best optically designed eyewear in the most unique frames. In 1971, Dr. Murphy earned a scholarship to college for high jumping. It was through athleticism that he was given the opportunity for higher levels of education. Dr. Murphy is a two time All-American High Jumper both at Cal Poly and at UC Berkeley where he attended Optometry School. Dr. Murphy received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1978 and settled back in the Sacramento area where he grew up. That high level work ethic, drive to succeed and passion for performance is reflected in his strive to deliver his very best to his patients every day.
