Getting to know Dr. Vanessa Bellamy

I’m a Supervising Psychologist who provides behavioral health services to children, adolescents, young adults, and families, while also supporting the growth and development of clinicians within the practice. I bring a thoughtful, leadership-driven perspective to my work, combining clinical expertise with a deep commitment to high-quality, compassionate care. I specialize in ADHD, trauma, identity development, and life transitions, and integrate evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches to support resilience and long-term well-being. I’m passionate about creating strengths-based, culturally responsive spaces where individuals and families feel understood, empowered, and supported throughout the therapeutic process.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I earned my PhD from the Combined Counseling Psychology and School Psychology program at Florida State University, my MA in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and my BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. I completed my doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Counseling and Psychological Services and previously served as a Staff Psychologist and Outreach Coordinator at Barnard College’s Furman Counseling Center.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When you are ready to get started, schedule an initial assessment visit (intake) through Zocdoc. After you book an appointment, a care coordinator will reach out to review your method of payment and/or insurance number and answer any initial questions you may have before our first visit.
