As a parent.. its such a relief knowing he can see clearly without worrying about glasses getting lost or damaged. Im also happy that we’re helping slow down his eyesight from getting worse. About Dr. Vipal Gandhi
Dr. Gandhi was born and raised in India where his family has been interested and passionate about medicine for more than five generations. His interest in Optometry was piqued when his grandmother required care for her cataracts. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine in 2009. Dr. Gandhi earned his Doctorate of Optometry in 2013 as a member of the charter class of Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry. His collegiate career was highlighted by various awards and distinctions including “Outstanding Clinician of the Year” and inclusion in “Who’s Who amongst American Universities & Colleges”. While at Western University, Dr. Gandhi was actively involved in researching color and accommodative dysfunction under respected vision scientist Dr. Christopher Chase. He received extensive training at the Advanced Vision Institute in Virginia and the Bay Pines VA Hospital in Florida.

My experience with Dr. Gandhi has been phenomenal. From the great care he takes during the exam and explaining everything so clearly to the best selection of frames to choose from. He has considered everything when it comes to eye care and the entire experience!

Had an exceptional experience. Was greeted with a welcoming smile by the friendly staff. The Dr. was very thorough and knowledgeable, answered all my questions regarding my "presbyopia" as well as contact lens options. The opticians were so patient and helpful with recommendations based on my prescription. I can't wait to pick up my new eyeglasses. Understanding my VSP benefits/coverage has never been this easy. I will definitely be coming back!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Gandhi's for years and can't say enough great things about him and the entire staff at Golden State Optometry.
Dr. Gandhi is kind, knowledgable, and thorough. The office is equipped with all the latest tech, so I know I’m always getting the best eye care. I primarily wear contacts but love browsing their impressive selection of frames (sunglasses included).
The free garage parking is just another perk considering the central Santa Monica location!

I went to Dr. Ghandi when I started having trouble seeing my computer screen, and I couldn't be happier with the visit. He was thorough, took the time to listen to all of my concerns, and explained everything clearly. He also has a great selection of glasses in his office. Best of all there was zero wait!

I highly recommend this optometry practice! They have everything you could ask for; from exceptional customer service to a knowledgeable doctor and a friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Everyone makes you feel welcome, takes the time to answer your questions, and ensures you have a great experience. It’s wonderful to find a practice that combines professionalism, expertise, and genuine care for its patients. I’m so glad I found them!

My wife, parents, and I have been going for consults with Dr Gandhi for years. His knowledge, bedside manner, efficiency have aided our inquiries across lasik, cataracts, dry eyes, lens variety, and more. His fantastic offices and staff are high quality. He's always ready to aid thoroughly and promptly. Other eye care visits cannot compare. We've received excellent, full family care every visit. Dr. Gandhi's practice is a gem.

Dr. Gandhi is very knowledgeable, patient and accommodating. His staff is wonderful and welcoming. He treats our whole family, from our son who was prescribed ortho k lens to the rest of our family that wear glasses, contact lens', and prescription sunglasses. His office has a nice selection of frames and they are happy to recommend a pair to best complement your face.
We've also had to call him during off office hours with eye emergencies including infections, cuts, etc and he is prompt and attentive.
