About Dr. Virginia Chan
As a doctor trained at Touro University, Vallejo, where I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, I always look outside the box. My internship and residency at Rowan University further shaped my approach to care, which considers the whole person and every aspect of their life. I offer safe alternative approaches to my patients so they can choose what works best for them. To me, working together is key. I don't want to treat my patients in a way that makes them feel like they're just taking orders from me because I'm the doctor. This is a friendly, collaborative relationship where we come up with a care plan together.
What I most want my patients to know is that I will always help them devise a plan that is truly the best one for them, not just the one that I think is best.
I spend a lot of time with each of my patients, listening carefully to their concerns. I believe that taking the extra time to listen is critical in providing great medical care. To me, we are building a relationship for life.

In short, the Dr. recommended I take a pill to expel my pregnancy as she found no heart after only 1 visit and stated I was miscarrying. She has no compassion and I left confused and extremely frustrated. Went and got second opinion. I do not trust Dr. Chan. Will never return to this office.

I truly cannot wait to visit Dr. Chan again, which is a funny thing to say seeing I'll be going back for an OBGYN appt! She made me feel so safe, listened to my concerns + gave amazing advice, and helped me schedule next steps while I was still in her office.
I highly recommend anyone to visit Dr. Virginia Chan - she makes me question what my previous OBGYNs were doing because I never felt comfortable/heard by them.

Dr. Chan is overall a great friendly doctor; I immediately felt at ease. I went for the annual wellness visit and got all my questions answered. The speculum insertion was a bit rough for me. I would’ve appreciated feedback after the breast and vaginal exams, even if it’s preliminary observations (e.g., this is the first visit so there isn’t a comparison but nothing jumps out at me at the moment, and scans/tests will confirm; etc.). If the doctors doesn’t say anything, make sure to ask! And maybe she usually does; I have other actions items after this appointment so I’m sure she had those things on her mind but as patients, silence can make us worry. As for paperwork, you won’t have much of a wait when you arrive if you set up your account in advance on the online portal, submit your insurance info and your intake form. The doctor will skim it during the visit. Would recommend and return.

Dr. Chan is amazing! This was my first time having a women's health appointment in the U.S. after having moved here almost 3 years ago and I must say I was worried about changing doctors. After so many bad experiences with doctors, I was super nervous about establishing a new provider when I moved. But I cannot give enough praise to Dr. Chan. She is honestly the best dr I have had so far. She listens and goes the extra mile. She gave me peace of mind about my health. Really excited to continue to see her and have her as my OB/GYN.
