About Dr. Wendy Choy

Dr. Wendy Choy researched the genetics of myopia at UCLA's Doris Stein Eye Institute before joining Laser Eye Center, where she has practiced since 2005. She focuses on determining surgical candidacy during the preoperative evaluation and caring for patients afterward — with specialty expertise in dry eye, refractive (LASIK & PRK), EVO ICL, cataract, pterygium (carnosidad), keratoconus, co-management contact-lens fitting, as well as cosmetic procedures. Dr. Choy earned her bachelor's in biology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and her Doctor of Optometry at the SUNY College of Optometry in New York, with an externship at OMNI Eye Service in Atlanta. She has provided full-scope and low-vision care to veterans at the Northport VA and managed cataract, corneal, glaucoma, and retinal conditions at OMNI Eye Service. Dr. Choy was previously the chief medical lead for Lasik Vision Institute training the next generation of optometrists before the practice withdrew from California. It was at this juncture that she joined the well esteemed Laser Eye Center. She has also provided vision screenings for athletes at the New York Special Olympics.
