[Please note- I am not in-network with medical insurance plans. Self-pay and Out-of-Network only. I provide teletherapy and in-office sessions]. Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results. Many of our pitfalls, our "relapses" in behavior are often related to maladaptive patterns with family or partners. Our work in therapy is to understand these patterns, and learn to change them, towards a more authentic and mindful reality. I provide individual psychotherapy for issues related to relationships and life transitions (divorce, parenting, aging), interpersonal violence, trauma and abuse, mood and anxiety disorders, and cross-cultural adjustment. In addition, In the forensic, or court-related arena, I conduct psychological evaluations (Juvenile, Criminal, and Immigration courts). I have been in private practice in Westport, CT for over 25 years. I am currently Assistant Clinical Professor at Yale School of Medicine, where I supervise Psychology fellows and Psychiatry residents. Previously I worked in the field of addictions in New York City , as well as providing intensive psychotherapy at the Karen Horney Clinic. I received my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University in New York. My pre-doctoral internship was at the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. I received my MA/ EdM in (Cross-Cultural) Counseling Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University in NY. [Please note- I am not in-network with medical insurance plans. What should a new client know about working with you?

I am cross-cultural, having been born and raised overseas, and bring my cultural awareness and flexibility in my work. I was originally trained in Psychodynamic theory, which helps me to understand and formulate your history. I was then trained in the second wave of treatment modality, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps me in providing treatment, and goals. CBT often includes homework, as practicing new skills is very important in changing the ways we think, feel, and act. Ultimately, I have an eclectic approach, using principles from CBT, Schema Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy-- whatever seems to fit your individual case.

To determine the extent of your particular coverage, please read your health insurance contract carefully and call the benefits department at your insurer directly. You may want to contact your insurance company and ask the following questions: Do I have out-of-network coverage for outpatient psychotherapy (procedure code 90834, 90837)? If yes, continue below: “What is my deductible?” “What percentage of the fee is reimbursable?” “Is there a maximum number of sessions covered per year?” “Do sessions require prior authorization? At the end of the month I provide you with a Superbill (the invoice accepted for OUT-OF-NETWORK benefits), which you can then submit to your insurance who may reimburse you for part of it.
