About Dr. William Myrick
My path to medicine was shaped by real-world experience. Before entering the medical field, I earned a degree in chemical engineering and worked in industry for several years. That background gave me a practical understanding of the challenges and demands my patients face in their daily lives, and I carry that perspective into every patient encounter.
My time working in a rural hospital confirmed how rewarding it is to help people manage their health. Choosing internal medicine was a natural fit. It gives me the opportunity to get to know my patients over time, to understand not just their conditions but their lives, their goals and what matters most to them.
At Novant Health, we place a strong emphasis on preventive medicine. I believe that staying ahead of health issues is just as important as treating them, and I work closely with my patients to build habits and routines that support long-term wellness.
Outside of the office, I am married with a family that keeps me grounded and motivated. I make regular exercise a priority in my own life, and hiking is one of my favorite ways to stay active and clear my head.
