About Dr. Yelena Kagan
Yelena Kagan, OD, is an experienced, personable optometrist at Family Eyecare of Linden in Linden, New Jersey. She specializes in treating all vision impairments and eye diseases, restoring perfect vision and superior eye health. Dr. Kagan is fluent in Russian and English.
She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Hunter College in New York City and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry, also in New York City. Dr. Kagan completed two years of internships and externships at local eye care centers and hospitals and has more than 15 years of professional optometry experience.
She enjoys improving the vision and eye health of her patients by completing comprehensive eye exams and using innovative technologies and treatments to avoid crippling complications. Dr. Kagan maintains her medical credentials to stay current with the latest advances in optometry. She’s a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the New York State Optometric Association (NYSOA).
In her free time, Dr. Kagan enjoys dancing and spending time with her husband and two children. She welcomes new and existing patients to the practice.

The office was small and busy. I had to speak to two different front desk employees to verify my insurance was inputted correctly and for check in. I was seen late and after one test I was told to wait again in another section of the office. The doctor wasn’t very personable at first but after my insurance was corrected the staff seemed more friendly. The selection of glasses was okay not as extensive as other places I’ve been.

My visit at Family Eye Care was magnificant. I enjoyed how attentive my Doctor was whilst taking care of me. The glasses selection was phenomenal, lots to choose from. Good vibes all around the office overall!!
