I went in for an appointment, I did wait a little, but it was worth it. In 5 years here in NYC one of the best physicians I have been to - one that was nice, but actually knew what she was doing. Dr. Shi was very understanding and let me explain myself - she then was able to diagnose me very easily.
As most of my fellow NYers already know, finding an acceptable doctor here is to say the least, difficult. That's why Dr. Castro is such a treasure.
He did especially well with my husband, who has asthma, and is feeling great since his medication was fine-tuned by Dr. Castro.
I could go on and on, but it comes down to the fact that he listens, and treats everybody as an individual. If you're out there, lost and looking, make an appointment; I think you won't regret it!
I’ve seen Inessa seven times and she is the only medical practitioner I truly care about returning to. Well educated and up to date on medicine beyond what I’ve experienced with other FNPs and even MDs. She is extremely kind, compassionate, and cares about her patients. She always remembers our last visits and is so helpful. She will always ask if you have questions and take the time to explain anything. She manages my mental health medication better than any phsyciatrist I’ve been to (and bills at a PCP rate), always addresses my concerns, and provides me with several options. I never feel that she is pushing one treatment option on me, but rather that she explains all possibilities, pros/cons, partners with me to create the best medical plan for me, and closely monitors mental and physical symptoms. She is very proactive and each visit is completely comprehensive - I feel fully comfortable trusting her with my care. For simple medication issues, she always offers to let me call in, as opposed to billing an appointment and requiring my time. When I had a brief uninsured period, she told me to call in if I needed anything and assured me she would still help me out over the phone. She truly brightens my day, and I always walk out of her office with the peace of mind that I am actually receiving help. I feel prepared knowing that I have an intelligent practitioner to work with me towards better health. Despite this being a small office with a limited administrative capacity, the doctors do as much as they can to help out and are often able to save you a more expensive trip to a specialist. They embody the future of primary care practices, which can help a lot of low-income patients by integrating more expansive services into their practices. I’ll always check in with this office before seeing a specialist, and there’s no bullshit for the sake of profit; they will tell you before the visit if they can do something over the phone (simple refills, medication adjustments) and save you a visit, or if you’d be better off seeing a specialist for the problem you’ve described. Plus, you can generally book same day appointments via zocdoc. Also, unlike most doctor’s offices in the city, there is almost never a wait time (and never more than 15 minutes), no shuffling of patients, and no rushing even if you’re the last appointment of the day. I’ve also seen Dr. Eidgah when I’ve been physically sick and Inessa is out, and he is equally fantastic. Both kind, qualified, patient professsionals - what an ideal and pleasant doctor’s visit should entail.
Dr. Eidgah and his staff were extremely nice and knowledgeable, answered all my questions, wait time was minimum yet never felt rushed either. The office was very nice, clean and friendly. I would definitely recommend him and I’ll continue going to his practice for all my medical needs.
It stood out to me that they took the time to look up the exact cost of each vaccination before asking me if I wanted to go forward. In my experience that is so rare in health care and I truly appreciated it! My doctor was extremely knowledgeable about travel medicine and the office was efficient with my time.
