I consider my counseling career started when I was 18 and worked at a residential care facility called The Manor Foundation. As a residential treatment staff, I maintained a milieu of children, pre-teens and some adults who had sustained developmental and emotional disabilities. This sparked my interest in all things psychological as I pursued my undergraduate degree in psychology and minor in music at Rollins College. During my undergraduate, I was lucky enough to have the college CAPS program to help me through a difficult period of depression which fundamentally changed my life and career trajectory. From there, I knew I wanted to use my major of psychology in a hands on way. Luckily, the same college also had a Masters in Mental Health Counseling program, which I completed in 2020. I did my internship for my masters degree at a men's drug and alcohol residential, where I familiarized myself in all things recovery. I facilitated individual and group therapy on an array of recovery topics. After that, I spent time working at an eating recovery residential facility where I was able to connect many of the parallels of recovery from substances to disordered eating behaviors. Finally, my last year was as a crisis clinician at a walk-in crisis center. There, I learned the value of building rapport and assessing for safety and other risk factors that could pose immediate danger to clients. With the breadth of clients and experience I've had, I decided it was time to enter the realm of private practice. My goal is to grow deep therapeutic relationships with clients who are ready to explore the inner depths of themselves.
