What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in a collaborative approach between the client and clinician. My goal is to foster a safe, nonjudgmental space where, together, we can explore your treatment goals, process challenges you’ve faced, and address barriers to making meaningful change. Starting therapy can feel scary, so I hope to create an environment where you’re comfortable being yourself (with plenty of room for humor and compassion). I invite you to reach out to discuss working together toward a life less burdened by troubling symptoms and behavioral roadblocks. I would be honored to join you on your journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My perspective is predominately through a cognitive-behavioral lens, while also privileging the importance of how your identity, relationships, day-to-day life, and access to various resources might influence your beliefs and perceptions of the world around you, your child or family. I flexibly incorporate other skills, perspectives, and techniques that would support your ability to gain a deeper awareness of your inner cognitions, develop mastery in coping with difficult emotions, and find peace in accepting the things that may not change.

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Ongoing session: $185-350 for 50 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

Bryant West Psychology works with most insurance plans (whether in-network or out-of-network) to make the financials easy, hassle-free, and paper-work-free for you. We can bill your insurance for you, and you can pay us any deductibles and co-pays by credit card or through Zelle, as well as the old-fashioned ways, such as check or cash. In-Network: Our clinicians are providers in the following networks: Aetna and its affiliated insurers (Allied Benefit Systems - Aetna, Christian Brothers Services - Aetna, HealthScope - Aetna, Meritain, Nippon, Trustmark ) and student health insurance at NYU, Columbia, New School, Fordham. Your insurance company sets our fees, co-pays, and deductibles, making our services more affordable. We will discuss this with you. Out-of-Network: We bill all insurance companies, such as United Health Care, Oxford, Cigna, Blue Cross/Shield, and Beacon (to name a few). Depending on your plan, your insurance may pay up to 80% of our fees (and sometimes more). We will do our best to work with you to make payment arrangements that won't break the bank—that is, your bank.
