Hi! I'm Abbie, a LCSW and Doctor of Social Work with experience in sectors like community mental health, hospice, and residential treatment. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of New England - Biddeford Campus. I currently offer virtual appointments and can accommodate schedules with both daytime and late hours.
My passion lies in working with those seeking self-empowerment, ready to make positive changes and dedicated to putting in what it takes. As a licensed clinician, I've treated individuals managing various challenges, such as Borderline Personality Disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD/C-PTSD, substance abuse disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses.
In my doctoral research, I focused on an effective treatment method for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and have integrated its principles in my practice. I believe you're the author of your life story, and I use a relational approach to provide validation, gently challenge you, and manifest a humanistic presence to achieve long-lasting positive changes.
I understand that therapy isn’t a “one size fits all” process. As a human first, like you, I aim to establish a therapeutic relationship that is healing, safe, and helpful in moving towards your goals. I seamlessly shift between therapeutic approaches depending on your needs at the time. My therapist goal is to create lasting, positive changes that are tailored to your own goals through collaboration and planning that works for you.
When not on duty, I'm a book lover, car singer, and cat lady. As a Maine native, I find the first snowfall special.
