Psychotherapist
420 Lexington Ave, New York, NY
Hello and welcome! My name is Alex, and I work with adolescents, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, stress, confidence, perfectionism, performance pressure, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I believe therapy is a space to better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may be holding you back, and create meaningful change. My approach is person-centered, solution-oriented, and holistic, incorporating principles of DBT, mindfulness, humanistic therapy, and evidence-based practices. I have a particular interest in helping teens and adolescents navigate academic and social pressures, anxiety, self-esteem, motivation, emotional regulation, and the challenges that come with growing up. I also work with adults experiencing anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, perfectionism, career pressure, low confidence, and major life transitions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Whether you’re a teen navigating new pressures or an adult feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or ready for change, my goal is to provide a warm and supportive space where we can build on your strengths, develop practical strategies, and help you move forward with greater confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My background uniquely combines mental health, health and exercise science, and performance coaching. Before becoming a therapist, I earned my degree in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University and worked as a Sport Performance Specialist. This experience shaped my understanding of the connection between mental health, physical well-being, confidence, motivation, and performance. We will start where your at now and goal set. While we work together, we will look into your past as well and see what behaviors might be stemming from there and work to change them in the now.
