“Alex is BY FAR the best therapist I've ever had. I'm actually a little annoyed that Grow will not let me select every option for her, because she is all of the things. She brings authenticity to our sessions and is realistic in helping me set goals. She is not a "cookie cutter" therapist and has been working with me consistently to meet my goals as they change. I wish everyone had an Alex!!!”

Getting to know Alexandra Descalzi

The provider is a “Licensed Professional Counselor" and their license number is 37PC00465500 Hello, I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in New Jersey, and I have had the privilege of working as a mental health counselor for the past 17 years. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Caldwell University. Throughout my career, I have focused on providing support and empowerment to individuals facing a range of challenges in outpatient settings. My journey in mental health began with a deep commitment to helping trauma and abuse victims find healing and reclaim their lives. Over the years, I have worked extensively with survivors, offering compassionate and evidence-based interventions to help them navigate their trauma and foster resilience. In addition to trauma work, I have also been dedicated to serving individuals with a variety of mental health struggles. One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been witnessing the transformative power of mental health empowerment. I strongly believe in empowering individuals to take an active role in their healing journey, fostering a sense of agency, self-worth, and hope for the future. My dedication to mental health empowerment extends beyond the therapy room. I am deeply involved in community outreach efforts, advocacy work, and initiatives aimed at destigmatizing mental health issues and promoting access to quality care for all. I am excited to continue this journey of empowerment and impact, and I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with you on your own path to mental well-being.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
