UpLift Behavioral Health providers do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by any federal or state agency or other drugs that may be harmful because of their potential for abuse. UpLift Behavioral Health reserves the right to limit the types of medications that may be prescribed by its doctors and nurse practitioners. All prescriptions furnished by UpLift Behavioral Health care providers are issued in accordance with applicable federal and state law as well as UpLift Behavioral Health policy. I like to treat a person as a whole-the sum of your different attributes makes you unique. Each person is radically different, and part of the journey is uncovering who you are at your core. My approach utilizes CBT to explore your thoughts and their origins to uncover the dysfunction. We'll then use DBT to make sense of how you're experiencing your emotions and help with emotion regulation. We unfortunately don't get how-to manuals when we become adults, but that's where I come in. We'll go over skills you might not have learned and help get you to the person you want to be. I hold a Master's in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor's degree from the State University of New York, Albany, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you on this journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

We're all doing our best and I try to be as validating as I can while still holding you accountable. I utilize CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to work through maladaptive thoughts and behaviors. We'll also take a look at how those thoughts were formed. I use DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) to help with emotion regulation. Our sessions will be 45-60 minutes long, completely virtual.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I like to start sessions off with a few quick questions on your background. Once that is done, I like to get into your immediate concern so that we can begin to address your discomfort. I give homework (readings, thinking prompts) to help facilitate change in-between sessions.
