"There can be no transforming of darkness into light ... without emotion." -Jung Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the core of my training. It embraces the past's belief systems that affect your present. It's a state of mind that defines thinking that affects emotion. To become aware is not to change, but to understand and accept. My approach Patients are taught to dispute their irrational beliefs by replacing them with rational, adaptive beliefs. This involves examining the logical consequences of holding onto irrational beliefs and disputing them with more rational alternatives. I teach, I guide, and I hold patients accountable. My focus Higher level of cognitive flexibility, analytical skills, and good critical thinking skills. What I do is reprogram your brain to change your thoughts, emotions, and feelings through neuroplasticity. You want to change? I can give you change very quickly. My communication style Open, direct, and honest. I do not sugar-coat anything and will always be truthful in answering questions; however, those answers may not be what you want to hear. Regardless, I will always be honest and truthful. My journey to mental healthcare I have worked in this field for 39 years, owned my own clinical practice for 17, worked in academia, and trained the future of this profession - I have done a lot for community support, and now beginning a journey of self-employment towards retirement. My goals for you To become aware is not to change, but to understand and accept. I don't offer advice - I offer choices -not something others feel 'should' be. Come. Sit. Talk. Let's wander your path together. I am direct, honest, reflective, and will hold you accountable, set goals, and assign homework. I will always be honest and direct.
